This week Balenciaga live streamed the launch of their Summer 2023 collection. With Kanye West opening, the runway show featured some of the world’s top models including Bella Hadid. However, in true Balenciaga form the show was dark and strange. Rather than a typical runway, the show took place in a mud grave. From start to finish the show made me uncomfortable to the point where I didn’t want to finish watching it. The models faces were either emaciated or covered in bruises and blood, walking like zombies with horror movie music in the background. The entire vibe felt very demonic and while I respect the creativity of the show, it honestly gave me nightmares.
