The first of its kind, Balenciaga has premiered a luxury coat created with the environmentally sustainable, leather alternative ingredient, EPHEA. Balenciaga has spoken on the fact that the fashion industry has caused major irreversible damages to the environment. Perhaps this design is their attempt at standing with environmental protection. The material EPHEA is made of mushrooms and allows for an entirely non-toxic process of design. Disregarding the astronomical cost of nearly ten thousand dollars, these coats are aesthetically beautiful and what’s even more beautiful is that they are safe for the environment.
