Kanye West took the fashion industry by storm when he collaborated with Adidas for the creation of Yeezy. Since then he has worked with a number of highly respected designers like Virgil Abloh, and has had a close public friendship with Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia. Their collaboration with Gap sold millions on its initial launch date and remained one of the most had to have collections of the year, until this past week. For months, Kanye’s outrageous comments and behavior have caused outrage in the public and lead him to lose a number of deals. Balenciaga being one of the last to stand by his side, has officially cut ties with Kanye and his brand after his recent hate comments.
